Welcome to ShamanSphere’s blog!

Thank you for visiting.

This blog is about seeking and where that seeking has led me. For more on that, check out the About page. The story begins in the Christian God section with In the Beginning…

If you’ve been there, done that, the story moves on into more positive territory in the Post-Christian God section with Re-Inventing God: A Scientific Perspective.

If you like what you see, please don’t hesitate to Like my blog and share its content. I can also be found on Facebook. Thanks again!

A New Creation Story II: Spirit Takes Form

I had a lot I wanted to cover here about the continued unfurling of our great universe before the appearance of life on this planet. Perhaps too much… Here are a few highlights I find particularly fun and interesting that I just couldn’t leave out.

The Fruit of All Evil: Lessons from the Garden of Eden

The story of the creation of Adam and Eve and their eventual fall was drilled into my head very young. As an adult (of mind at least) I became more interested in it and read it many times. While I don’t give the story much credibility in a literal or historic sense, taken as allegory there were lessons for me in the garden. Allow me to share…

To my readers,

I started this blog on a kind of whim. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I thought it would be cool to have a place to share my story. I hadn’t really planned any further ahead than a very rough outline of Christianity in a Nutshell and some ideas about the following posts under Christian God.

My goal has been to post something every day; after all, there’s so much I want to get out. That being said, I don’t want to post fluff just to kill time so to speak. I want to keep things as original and personally meaningful as possible. Also, so far there’s a kind of thought flow that shapes a certain order of ideas.

Right now I have 3 drafts going: a piece on the Adam & Eve story and the next two parts of ‘A New Creation Story’. When I started, I didn’t envision a section entitled Post-Christian God. It took form as I was writing the Christian God stuff.

The further I go, the more comes to mind and the further away the other menu sections get from being populated. I will get to them eventually; I already have lots of ideas for posts in each category.

It’s also worth mentioning that I don’t have any professional writing training or experience. It often takes a few tries to get the wording just so. Given the subject matter, there is enough room for ambiguity and misunderstanding as it is. It’s important for me to get it down right and that takes some time.

As I mentioned in Missing Content, I am a husband and father of two with a full-time job. I am sorry to admit that each of these areas has suffered a tiny bit as I became more plugged into my blog. This is unacceptable. I assure you there is much more to come and I wish I could get it all out sooner, but those of you who know me know that I’m also a juggler. I already had a bunch of balls in the air in my life. It’s time to let the blog ball fall into the pattern rather than dictating it. I thank you for your patience and your readership. I should post my next page tomorrow.

I’m not sure where this is going exactly, but I sure am enjoying the ride. I hope you are too.

Thanks again, ShamanSphere

A New Creation Story I: Spirit Reborn

A New Beginning…Before Creation, all was Spirit and Spirit was in perfect union. All was good. Calm was the face of Spirit. Oneness prevailed; One Energy, One Being, One Thought…And Spirit was manifest. From one infinitesimal point in non-space Creation erupted and Spirit became Energy. Spirit will return to the story in a bit…

Re-Inventing God: A Scientific Perspective

It starts with the supposition that God is all. The only way He could be all-knowing, all-powerful and everywhere is if He were, in fact, everything. This is a great thought, but what of a mechanism? How can this be?

On Easter: Bunnies and Eggs

Rituals do not come into being by chance.

Chocolate bunnies and colored eggs are not a part of the Easter celebration by chance. Nor is it coincidence that Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who is seen as the embodiment of God. In days of old, this was indeed a time for celebration; the annual renewal of the Mother Earth. When life breaks free from the icy tendrils of winter and springs into an orgy of color and sights and sounds. It is a time of cubs and pups and kittens; the rebirth of all kinds. The rebirth of God.

Rabbits fornicate like, well… rabbits and eggs are about the most blatant symbol of fertility we have.

So as you celebrate the resurrection of the Father, through the Son, Jesus Christ, also take a moment to thank His long forgotten better half: Our Mother Earth. The Life Giver. The Provider. Our Home. She has always been there for us and if we want to stay in Her good graces, I suggest we better remember Her real fast. I celebrate the return of the Mother today.

Trees of Doubt: These Will Not Stand

My God is Not…The more I asked these questions, the more clear it became that no one else knew any more than I did. I was presented with plenty of justifications, but no real answers to calm my fears. It didn’t help that there was nothing even resembling a consensus in the responses I received; because I was scared. Hell was still very real for me. So far all I had were doubts. Now I had irreconcilable differences between the God I felt I knew in my heart and the God that I had been taught I had to believe in to avoid the suffering of Hell…
